Chief Sealth will be at home at the Southwest Athletic Complex for a 7 p.m. Metro League opening game Friday as West Seattle plays Seattle Prep at the same time at West Seattle Stadium.
Seattle Lutheran has West Seattle Stadium for a 1:30 p.m. game Saturday against Lake Roosevelt.
Evergreen of White Center travels to Orting for a 7 p.m. game Friday.

Girls soccer
Chief Sealth hosts Roosevelt for a 6 p.m. match on Thursday.

Volleyball
Chief Sealth goes to Rainier Beach for a 7 p.m. match Tuesday before entertaining Franklin at 7 p.m. Thursday.
West Seattle visits Franklin at 7 p.m. Tuesday and hosts Rainier Beach at the same time Thursday.

Golf
West Seattle plays Franklin in 3 p.m. action at the West Seattle course Monday and takes on Lakeside at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Jefferson Park. Chief Sealth visits Eastside Catholic at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Colleges
Football
The University of Washington returns to action after a week off, traveling to Soldier Field in Chicago to play Illinois at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Washington State University hopes to follow up on its stunning 10-7 victory over USC when it hosts Southern Utah at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Huskies game will be shown on the Big Ten network and the Cougars game on the Pac-12 network.

Pros
Seahawks
Seattle opened with a victory at Carolina this past Sunday and now plays its first home game at 5:30 p.m. Sunday against San Francisco at Century Link field.
The game against the NFC West rivals will be shown on KING Channel 5.

Mariners
Armed with an unusual six-man starting pitching rotation, the Seattle Mariners will take on the Houston Astros in 7:10 p.m. games Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Safeco Field before visiting the high-flying St. Louis Cardinals at 5:15 p.m. Friday, 4:15 p.m. Saturday and 11:15 a.m. Sunday.
Mariners games can be seen on the ROOT sports cable network.

Sounders
Seattle will be at home at Century Link playing Real Salt Lake in a 7 p.m. soccer match Friday.
NBC Sports will show the action live on KING Channel 5.

Storm
The Seattle Storm battles Minnesota in a 7 p.m. game Tuesday at the Key Arena before going to Tulsa for 5 p.m. action Thursday and coming home to play the same team in its regular season finale at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The Live Well network will show the Tuesday and Saturday games.
