Police took a man into custody after a woman called 911 to report someone was trying to break into her West Seattle home.

The Seattle Department of Transportation has scheduled a public open house for March 14 regarding some major construction work set to start in April. That work aims to improve safety and mobility along Avalon Way SW and 35th SW.
