West Seattle Bridge Community Task Force looks at Cost Benefit plan and new Super Structure replacement alternative

The West Seattle Bridge Community Task Force, formed as part of set of advisors to Mayor Jenny Durkan, came closer to end of their mission on Oct. 21. They reviewed both the Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) that has taken more than 200 days to develop and a newer idea, a tied arch super structure replacement plan that was only announced last week.

Signs going up on low bridge Oct. 24 alerting drivers of photo enforcement

Fines begin as early as January 1

The Seattle Department of Transportation shared on Wednesday that signs letting drivers know that automated/photo enforcement will begin after the first of the year on drivers using the low Spokane Street Bridge illegally.

The West Seattle Transportation Coalition October meeting this Thursday, October 22nd at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be conducted online using Zoom.

SDOT has just released the highly anticipated West Seattle Bridge High-Rise Bridge cost-benefit analysis (CBA). The CBA is available from the SDOT Blog website. At Thursday’s meeting, we will have SDOT representatives on hand to discuss the CBA and how it might influence the decision to repair or replace the bridge.

We will also hear from SDOT about the city’s Stay Healthy Streets program.
