Jogger assaulted with a pistol near 16th and Barton

At 8:37 am, on Sunday Nov. 9 officers responded to reports of an assault with a firearm near 16 Av SW/SW Barton St. The victim stated that while jogging, he was approached by several subjects near an RV.

Unprovoked, the suspect struck him on the side of the head with a handgun, then fired a couple of shots in the air. Field show-up was negative.

Officers located shell casings near the RV parked on 16 Av SW/SW Barton St. Suspect description was WM, 40-50 years old.

This incident was screened with GVRU.

Chief Sealth makes it to state Volleyball tournament

Chief Sealth slammed its way into the state Class 2A volleyball tournament Saturday, cruising to a 3-1 victory over Nathan Hale in the match for the second and final berth out of district play.

The Seahawks will journey to the Yakima Valley Sun Dome to open state at a time and against an opponent to be announced.

Chief Sealth played Cedarcrest in the district championship earlier in the day Saturday but came up short in that match, 3-2.

Evergreen and Foster played in the same tournament but missed out on state.

Foster was eliminated by Nathan Hale earlier Saturday, 3-1, and Evergreen was ousted by Lindbergh, 3-0.

Man arrested by Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force

Seattle police detectives in the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and federal law enforcement partners arrested a 23-year-old man in possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).This took place in the Southwest Precinct coverage area

On Nov 5., ICAC detectives, Community Response Group officers, and agents in the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Department of Homeland Security executed a search warrant and arrest operation in the Delridge neighborhood. 

Police arrested the man without incident.

ICAC detectives interviewed the suspect and booked him into the King County Jail for possession and distribution of CSAM. Detectives also recovered CSAM evidence at the scene.
