Age 97 passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 in Everett. She was a lifetime member in the Washington State Pioneer Association. She retired from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer as a switchboard operator. Gladys is survived by her daughters, Margie Bates, Joan Coburn and Kathleen (John) Leggett; son, David (Lillian) Fauver; 18 grandchildren; 22+ great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Solon in 1994. Committal services were held on Friday, March 23, 2007 at Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac.

Jack D. Giorgetti of West Seattle passed away in the early morning hours of March 16, 2007 with his loving family by his side. Jack fought a courageous battle of lung cancer. He knew about his illness in the summer of 2006 but instead of treatment, he sacrificed his life to care for his loving wife, Jeannette of 63 years who preceded him in death on Dec 9, 2006. His wish was to live long enough to take care of his wife.

Jack was born in Seattle on November 23, 1923 to Emilia and Secondo Giorgetti. He graduated from West Seattle High School in 1941.

Marilyn "Mary" Saunders, born February 23, 1934, in Seattle, passed away peacefully March 16, 2007, at her home in Shorewood. Mary is survived by her son Charles Saunders and his wife Linda, and her daughter Donna Simpson and her husband Tom.

Mary grew up in the Burien/White Center area where she graduated from Highline High School in 1947.

Justice

Lorraine Eva Frances Justice, age 92, of Normandy Park, passed away peacefully in her sleep. Lorraine was born in Stroud, Okla., grew up in Greensburg, Kans., with her parents Lova and Alfred Con Reed. She married Lawrence Giles Justice, a high school classmate, in 1939.

In 1941 they moved with their infant daughter, Linda, to Seattle, where Lawrence worked at Boeing until the end of World War II, at which time he entered the real estate business in Burien until his retirement.

Age 70.

Died March 18, 2007

Tom was born on December 9, 1936, in Paris, Texas. He moved to Washington in 1947, graduated from Highline High School in 1955, married Dianne Lehman in 1962, and began his real estate career in Burien in 1979.

Tom loved to help others-through work, family and church relationships.

Howard H. Arnold, Jr. ("Hap"), age 83, long time resident of Federal Way, Washington, passed away March 2, 2007, at Highline Medical Center in Burien, Washington, after a long illness.

From his childhood, when he spent 75 cents for an airplane ride in his boyhood home of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, he envisioned a career in aerospace.

Proudly served during WWII in the USMC. Earned Bachelor of Mechanical

Engineering from Ohio State University on the GI Bill.

Age 58, born Christmas Day 1948, passed away Feb. 17, 2007. Marv grew up in Seattle and raised his family in Edmonds. Marv enjoyed sharing the sights of Seattle with locals and visitors during his 25-year career as CEO/Operator of the taxi/limo company Seattle Airporter.

Helen M. Dore passed away March 12, 2007 after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter L. Dore. She is survived by two sons Steven Dore (Rhonda) of Marysville, Wash.; Kevin Dore (Karen) of Spanaway; three grandchildren Andrew Dore; Heather Dore; Seth Dore; four sisters Dorothy Bertrand of Seattle; Sylvia Haguewood of Bothell; Marcella Clemenhagen of Vancouver, Wash. and Faith Rogers of Lynnwood.

Helen was very devoted to her family and was an avid volunteer at the Puget Sound Blood Bank and Ronald McDonald house.

Ana was born on May 14, 1940 in Seville, Spain. She passed away peacefully at home with her family and friends at her side on March 2, 2007 after a courageous fight against cancer.

Ana is survived by her children Mari McBurney, Tina Stariha, Lawrence McBurney, Lee Ana Lagle, Jolon Gallegos and their families. She is also survived by a sister and brother in Spain, six grandchildren, and many cherished friends around the world.

As a young bride, Ana moved to West Seattle from Spain in 1964 and raised her five children in the area.

(1920-2007) Notable concert pianist, organist, composer and teacher Dr. John R. Cowell succumbed to a heart attack on March 4, 2007, as he entered Peace Lutheran Church for Sunday services, with his wife Eleanor on his arm.

Dr. Cowell was born to a musical household in Springhouse, Pa. in 1920, youngest of seven siblings. His parents nurtured his talent and he lived a life of stellar accomplishment in the world of music, progressing from talented prodigy to renowned composer and concert pianist, respected professor and educator.
