Joseph Leo KLEIKAMP 1919-2014

Joseph Kleikamp was born on his father's dairy farm in Wilson, Michigan December 29, 1919. Joe attended a one room school house built by his father who also donated the land to provide the formal education that Joe's father did not receive after the early death of his grandfather back in Münster, in the old German Empire, from which his father emigrated to far Northern Michigan. At 17 he began college at Michigan Technical Institute transferring after one year to the University of Washington where he graduated as a Civil Engineer.
Joe served as an officer in the US Army during WWII. He later had a civilian career with the US Army Corps of Engineers. In 1944 Joe married Opal A. Hannon and they were together for 65 years until Opal passed (b. August 19, 1921, d. October 13, 2009).

He loved Husky and Seahawk Football.
