Liesa Marie JENSEN 1917-2014

Marie Jensen, 97, a resident of El Dorado Retirement Community, passed away peacefully January 8, 2015.

Marie was born in Sylt, Germany in 1917. After her father died in WWI, Marie’s mother remarried and the family moved to the Seattle area. Marie graduated from Highline High School. She moved to Alaska, where she remained for many years, Her last job was with the district court in Juneau. Returning to Seattle, she worked for Frederick & Nelson 15 years before retiring to enjoy her home and the gardening she loved.

Independent by nature, Marie always found time to care for others. In 2007 she moved to the El Dorado, enjoying time spent with family and new friends, and her duties as secretary of the residents’ council. She excelled at Wii bowling.

Predeceased by her brother, Hans Jensen, Marie is survived by nephew, Jason Jensen, and niece, Liesa Gonnor, and six great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Marie’s life will be held Saturday, February 7, 2pm, at the El Dorado Retirement Community, 1010 SW 134th St., Burien, Washington. Guestbook: www.yaringtons.com
