Violet Amelia (Cooper) KRULL 1938-2015

Violet Krull went home to be with the Lord Monday, December 1, 2014 after a year long battle with kidney cancer. She always had her game face on and was making gravy two days before her passing.

Violet was born to Tay and Amelia Cooper in Seattle, Washington and called West Seattle home for almost seventy-eight years. She attended West Seattle High School.

She learned to love baseball as a child playing in the sandlots. She followed the Seattle Rainiers on the radio with her dad. She attended Pilot and Mariners games, including the Mariners inaugural game in the Kingdome, and rarely missed a Mariners broadcast.

Two of her favorite events were trips to Reno with her sister, Pat, and friends, and the annual family reunions at Phillips Lake.

Vi’s family and friends will greatly miss her kindness and active participation in their lives. She attended nearly every game, drama production, and horse show of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known as the grandma with the cookies, there was also cake and ice cream for every birthday.

Vi is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Karl; sons, Max and Tay (Karena); siblings, Patricia Shepperd (Rex) and Paul Cooper (Joyce); and three grandchildren and their families, including 4 great-grandchildren; and her beloved Shih Tzu, Mee-sha. She was predeceased by her parents, Tay and Amelia Cooper; sister, Katherine; and son Gerard.
