George WEIDUM 1920-2015

Feb. 11, 1920 ~ Jan. 17, 2015
George Weidum, 94, passed away peacefully in Bend, OR. He was a kind-spirited man, a generous, hard-working, good Nebraska-born boy.

Born in Arlington, Nebraska, George’s upbringing was fraught with many tragedies and hard-times. He often had a story of “getting-by” that would bring back fond memories of exploits with boyhood friends, which caused us all to laugh, cry and be enthralled with another place and time.
After moving to Seattle in his early twenties, George found a life-long love in Catherine “Kay” (Krisewich). He worked in a variety of jobs and ultimately found employment at Boeing as a machinist, and retired after 40+ years.

He was an avid gardener, fisherman and tinkerer. George and Kay loved to camp and travel. Companions for life, George passed away two months after Kay. Married for 70 years, George felt it wasn’t quite long enough.
Surviving are George’s son, Terry of Puyallup, and daughter, Janice Vetter (Ken Yopp) of Bend, OR; and two granddaughters, Kaetlyn and Suzanna.

Burial site is at Acacia Memorial Park, Seattle, WA.
