Kathryn Elizabeth (Weglin) STROM 1918-2015

Longtime West Seattle resident, Kathryn Strom, 97, passed on July 24, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Kathryn was born January 18, 1918, in Seattle, WA to George and Catherine (Yeager) Weglin. She was a graduate of West Seattle High School class of 1936.

Kathryn met her future husband, Harry Strom of Sedro-Woolley, while working at the Port of Embarkation in Seattle, when he was in the Army. They were married in December of 1945.

A homemaker, family was always first for Kathryn. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, camping, gardening and spending time with her large family. Most importantly, she loved the Lord and accepted Christ as her Savior and was a constant prayer warrior for her family. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in West Seattle for 69 years.

Predeceased by her husband, Harry Strom; parents, Catherine and George Weglin; and siblings, Alex, Nadellia, John, Mike, Mary, George, Ray, Bob and Walter, Kathryn is survived by her children, Marlene Mowry, Gloria Shawstad, Bill Strom (Cindy) and Donna Strom; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015, 1 p.m., at Peace Lutheran Church, 8316 39th Ave. SW, Seattle, WA 98136. Memorial contributions may be sent to Peace Lutheran Church. A Graveside Service was held August 3 at Union Cemetery, Sedro-Woolley, WA.
