JAMES J. STEFNIK 1947 ~ 2016

James J. Stefnik, 69, completed his journey on this earth August 30, 2016. Born to John and Shirley Stefnik June 18, 1947 in East Vandergrift, PA, Jim grew up in West Seattle, graduating from WSHS in 1965. He completed his BA in Business Administration at the University of Washington in 1969; went on to complete his law degree at Willamette University and completed a master’s degree in taxation at New York University. He is survived by his three children, Jason (Angelica) Stefnik, Jennifer Stefnik and Jordan (Jessica) Stefnik; four grandchildren, Ciara, Serena, Dylan, and Lexi; his three siblings, Elaine Sibley, Mark (Thelma) Stefnik and Terri Stefnik and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was driven by a life-long pursuit of knowledge and new opportunities and enjoyed many interests including reading, travel, sports and playing guitar. Jim’s legal and business prowess allowed him to see and experience much of the world. In his retirement years, Jim cultivated a genuine compassion and care for God’s four-legged creatures which brought him great joy, exceeded only by his love for family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

A service to honor his life will be held October 15, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Burien.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be in the form of donations in Jim’s name to your favorite diabetes or pet rescue charity.
