The annual Empty Bowls Event, supporting the Highline and White Center Food Banks has to take a different path this year due to the pandemic. Like so many other events, Empty Bowls is going virtual.

A fire in a duplex in White Center at 9215 16th SW on Thursday afternoon displaced the family in the top floor after smoke and flames poured from the building. Fire crews responded quickly. 

Ten employees at the Fred Meyer store in Burien have tested positive for COVID-19 and their co-workers and union are demanding management take more stringent measures to protect them.

Small plates of expertly prepared food, carefully curated, locally sourced wine and beer and a genuine warmth showed in everything from the decor to the smiles you were greeted with. It opened with a bang.
