Stabbing victim declines to press charges

#2022-015871/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch: 

On 01-20-2022 at 2:47 am, officers responded to the parking lot of 7345 Delridge Way SW to a report of a stabbing and located the victim a block away at a gas station.

The victim had a stab wound to his left arm, so officers applied a pressure bandage to the injury.

This victim was uncooperative with officers’ questions, provided a basic description of a possible suspect.

The victim would not provide specific details about the incident and no scene was located. The victim stated repeatedly that he did not want to “press charges”.

Seattle Fire responded for additional medical evaluation. The victim declined multiple offers for medical transport and opted to self-transport to Harborview for treatment.

Reminder: Seattle Public Schools offering COVID testing to students, staff and families

With the recent announcement that free COVID testing kits can be ordered from the federal government at CovidTests.gov the need for more certainty is in the process of being met. There's a limit of four.

But many reports have surfaced that some people in multiple family dwellings have been denied the request since they share the same street address. That means the need for testing is still there and is especially important for families with multiple children in school.

Seattle Public Schools is offering free, COVID-19 testing, with results the same day, and made it available to all SPS students, families and staff. To qualify you must register in advance by going to:

Copine in Ballard named in top 20 US Restaurants by Yelp.com

Copine in Ballard at 6420 24th Ave. NW was ranked number 19 in the top 100 restaurants by Yelp.com in their just released ranking of the top 100 restaurants in the U.S.

The French inspired cuisine at Copine brought Yelp to say,

“Chef Shaun McCrain and his team offer a new menu each week, featuring contemporary American cuisine with a decidedly French flair. The 3-course prix-fixe meal offers multiple selections, so you’ll have some decisions to make—such as a recent entree choice between grilled Japanese hamachi with pickled black trumpet mushrooms; poulet rôti (roast chicken) with a smoked potato croquette; or a slow-smoked tomato stuffed with quinoa, lemon, and toasted pine nuts.

West Seattle's Pizzeria Credo named #30 out 100 top USA restaurants on Yelp

The accolades continue to mount for West Seattle's Pizzeria Credo as Yelp.com just announced their top 100 restaurants in the US.

Credo came in at number 30 in their ranking and they noted, 

"This thin-crust pizza is made Napoletano style in a blazing-hot oven with imported Italian double-zero flour (considered the gold standard for pizza and pastas) and homemade mozzarella. Get the Cinque Formaggi with Parmesan, ricotta, mozzarella, fontina, and goat cheese, or dive into their Tagliatelle Bolognese with thick, wide pasta ribbons.

Man tears up gas station store on Roxbury and is tasered by police

#2022-014729/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch: 

On 01-18-2022 at 5:33 pm, officers responded to a 911 hazard call regarding a subject lying in the roadway in the 2100 block of SW Roxbury St.

Officers arrived and located the subject walking in the roadway in the 3400 block of SW Roxbury St.

Officers attempted to persuade the subject out of the roadway, but he refused. While officers waited for additional units to arrive for an emergent detention, the subject ran in the road several blocks before entering a near-by gas station, located in the 2800 block SW Roxbury St.

The subject proceeded to damage and/or throw most items in the store, shatter a window, and threw items at officers. One officer was struck by flying glass but uninjured.

The subject eventually exited the store and a taser was deployed resulting in a type II Use of Force.
