Carl J. Hagstrom, of Port Orchard WA, passed away on February 16, 2023, at the age of 86. He was born October 9,1936, in Aberdeen, WA to Carl and Louise Hagstrom. Upon graduating from West Seattle High School in 1955, he joined the US Navy Reserves while working for Boeing. He married Marthellen Horne in 1955. They remained in West Seattle for 15 years raising their three children.
James F. Engelhardt, formerly of Burien, WA, passed away gently April 7, 2021, at age 71. His longtime companion, Marion, and brother, Bill, were bedside with Jim at West Hills Hospital in California when his nearly five-year battle with ALS came to a peaceful end.
Marilyn’s smile and laughter would light up any room she entered. She had a quick wit and ready comment for anyone who crossed her path. Marilyn was quite a character and not easy to forget. Agnes Mae (Stashuk) Murray, passed away peacefully at her home in Des Moines, WA surrounded by her loved ones on January 10, 2023.
Agnes was born on December 27, 1929, in Grassy Butte, North Dakota to Zena and John Stashuk. Agnes’ siblings included Rose Benn, Joseph Stashuk, Merle Daley, Violet Vick, Victor Stashuk, Lily Miller, Frank Trout, Roger Trout, Larry Trout, Joseph Trout and Lawrence Trout.
Shirley Day Peace, 95, of Des Moines, Washington, passed away on December 19, 2022.
On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, Evon Marie Wells better known as “Mom” to many, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 86.
Evon was born on June 5, 1936 in Crosby, North Dakota to Pearl E. MacLean and Lyle Chapman. Evon, with her mother Pearl and sister Aris, moved to Seattle in the early 1940’s where they lived on Alki Avenue in West Seattle until they moved to 38th Avenue in the Admiral District.
Evon graduated from West Seattle High School in 1954. That August she married Jack Kallerson and in October of 1955 gave birth to son Jack.
Edward Scott Bitzan, 62, of Kettle Falls, Washington left this world on November 1, 2022, with his loving and devoted wife, Mary, by his side at the Hospice House in Spokane, Washington. Ed was born to Barbara Laura Bitzan and David Francis Butler on May 10, 1960, in Seattle, Washington.
Edwin Burnell Fox was born on February 27, 1930, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ed’s family moved to White Center in Seattle when he was in elementary school. After graduating from Highline High School, he served in the US Armed Forces from 1948-1952.
He met Geraldine (Gerry) May in 1953, and after a 3-month courtship, they married on February 12, 1954. Ed and Gerry celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary prior to Gerry’s passing in 2015.
