Catherine R. Mesich born on May 1, 1952, in Seattle, WA, passed unexpectedly at her home in Vancouver, WA on June 11, 2019. Catherine “Katie” graduated from Holy Rosary High School. She received her B.A. in Biology from Western Washington University in Bellingham, and her MBA from Eastern Washington University in Cheney/Spokane in 1990.
Mary Elaine Revolinski passed away on June 27, 2019 in Burien, Washington after a long and hard-fought battle with MS.
Mary was born on August 28, 1950, in Renton, WA. She graduated from Tyee High School and attended Everett community college where she played in their band.
Terrence James Heil passed away peacefully on June 27, 2019 at the age of 86. He was born June 17, 1933 to John and Anna (Shoener) Heil in Eagle Butte, SD. Terry was raised in Rapid City, SD where he worked at his father’s auto repair shop, Heil’s North Rapid Service, as well as for the Rapid City Journal. When he wasn’t working, he was busy fishing, hunting, or racing hydroplane boats.
James Joseph Granquist was born on August 1, 1945, as WWII was ending.
He was the 3rd of 6 children, born to Joe & Mildred Granquist. It was a fun-loving, rollicking bunch: Lee, Sally, Jim, Mary, Bob & Gary.
Jim was very athletic. He grew up mainly in West Seattle, where he would swim every day at Colman Pool & play tennis at Lincoln Park. He also loved baseball & football.
Terry Anderson passed away June 20, 2019, at her place of residence at Judson Park Senior Living in Des Moines, WA due to complications of Alzheimer’s. Terry was born June 8, 1932 in Seattle and resided in SeaTac, WA since 1964 until she moved to Judson Park in 2016. She attended Highline High School and went to Marylhurst College in Oregon for a short time.
Richard "Rick" Oss passed away May 4, 2019 at age 68. Apart from his time in the Army, he was a lifelong West Seattleite. Rick worked at Lucky Grocery while at Sealth HS and UW and continued to work there summers when he became a teacher. After 20+ years as management at Boeing, Rick was blessed to return to teaching, this time with Seattle Public Schools and ultimately to Sealth to teach in Special Education and The Bridge Program. Rick's two passions were teaching and his faith, which he brought into all aspects of his life.
Wayman passed away peacefully on October 19, 2018, surrounded by family.
Born in 1939 in Rome, GA, he made his way to Seattle via the Navy in 1956, where he met and married his wife Marilyn of 42 years, until her passing in 2001.
He worked as a warehouseman for 36 years, retiring in 1995 to take care of his wife. He loved to sing and play the guitar. He would tease his family and friends, by starting a song, and never EVER finishing it. He also loved camping. He bought a property in Mason County in 1973, where the family still camps 46 years later.
Donald Arthur Dorland was born on May15, 1936 in Seattle, Washington. He passed on May 19, 2019 in Surprise, Arizona with his family by his side.
Don graduated from Highline High School in 1954. He was the first person in his family to attend college. He was awarded a full-ride basketball scholarship at the University of Washington, and he embraced the opportunity with a passion. Don joined the Delta Upsilon fraternity and remained connected to many of his fraternity brothers until his passing.
Jeannie passed peacefully into Heaven while in a Hospice facility in Billings, Montana. She is survived by her sons, Darrin, Larry and Doug, and her two sisters, Kay and Roberta. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Lee Ott. At Jeannie’s request, there will be no services. Jeannie enjoyed her West Seattle High School class reunions and we know she would be sorry to miss this year’s and her 65th in 2020.
Mary Lou Grinols, "The Cookie Lady," 83, of Seattle, Washington, passed away on May 10, 2019. She was born in Spokane, Washington. She spent her school years in Stanwood and graduated from Everett High School in 1954. She was married to Glen Allen Grinols in 1956 until his death in 1983. She found love twice and was married to her second husband, Emlin Miller from 1991 until his death two years later.
